Expanded view of a rental with a Brought Bike Back Hub Bonus (-$1.00) - this credit is shown in green. Despite the minus sign in front of the $1.00, rest assured your account is receiving an additional credit.
The details link will display a map of your rental.
When you earn a Brought Bike Back Hub Bonus, (-$1.00) in the example below, the $1 bonus will be applied to the total, bringing the trip cost down accordingly. Note there is a Single Ride plan charge of $2.50 for this trip, so in this example, $1.50 still owed.
Ride Time - If you want to ride for longer than the minutes included in your plan, the additional time is billed at $6 per hour prorated to the minute ($0.10/min) while your pass is active.
Multiple rentals - With the Day Pass and Annual Membership you can rent up to 4 bikes at the same time. Multiples are marked by an [M] after Rental. The riding time for the first bike is included in the free time for the plan and the second bike is billed at $6 per hour prorated to the minute ($0.10/min).
Out of Hub Fee - There is a $2 fee to lock a bike at a public rack, rather than a station/hub, within the system area.
Out of System Area - BIKETOWN has a system area, defined on the system map. There is a $20 fee when you end a trip (lock up a bike) outside of the BIKETOWN system area. You can keep an eye on the system area when you're riding and locking up by checking out the map online, at any station, or through the BIKETOWN app.
Hold Feature - You can always put your bike on hold for up to 30 minutes, after which time the trip will end where it's parked Consider this option instead of ending trip outside of the system area. Hold time does count towards ride time. Learn how to put a BIKETOWN bike on hold in this video.
